It is often said the human figure is the hardest thing to draw, and has a reputation for being a bit complicated, but we'll start with simple gesture lines, adding basic structure for the torso, using some classic measuring techniques like comparative and alignment for greater accuracy, placing some details like hands and feet, shadow mapping, and then building up tone using different grades of pencil. All you need is paper, a few pencils, and an eraser.
